The Americas Nuclear Energy Symposiums have seen growing success with participation increasing from 178 in 2000, to 202 in 2002. ANES 2002 participants surveyed stated that the conference had been a great benefit in apprising them of developments and issues in the nuclear industry, and in strengthening partnership-building and collaboration. They also emphasized the value of the ANES conference series to the nuclear science and technology industry and expressed the need for maintaining the momentum through future engagements and virtual collaboration forum.

The Americas Nuclear Energy Symposium (ANES) 2004, a follow up of ANES 2002, is sponsored and hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy and the American Nuclear Society with coordination by the Hemispheric Center for Environmental Technology at Florida International University. ANES 2004 will bring together members of government, industry, and academic communities for presentations and discussions on issues related to the future of nuclear energy in the Americas.

The Symposium will feature open panel discussions, case studies, technical break out sessions, and an international exhibit.
